Reem Al Hummar

Reem Al Hummar, October 2007

By Lobeke (ES) out of Reem Al Nasser (QA). Bred at the Royal Jordanian Stud by HRH Princess Alia Al Hussein. Owned by HRH The Prince of Wales.

I could talk about Reem all day, she is such a lovely filly both physically and by nature. She is extremely brave and has a great sense of fun. Life is one long adventure for Reem and every day there are new friends to be made. She lives with her Jordanian friend Lib'a and poor Lib'a has taken it upon herself to try and 'look after' Reem.....a full time task as it seems Reem is so inquisitive and is scared of no-one!

Li'ba gets cross with Reem

Whilst my husband and I were picking wild plums from the hedgerows in their field Reem, against Lib'as explicit instructions, wandered over and insisted on being shown the contents of the plastic carrier bag! Usually one crackle of a carrier bag and a horse 'legs it' but not Reem as can be seen by the photos.

Reem asks Tony "What's in the bag?"

Reem checks out the contents of the bag

Reem's sire Lobeke, bred by HRH Teresa De Borbon, Marquesa De Laula, is a very successful ridden Arabian and has won Championship Three Day Events against Olympic standard horses. Reem has the outline of an athlete in the making and hopefully she will be given the chance to prove herself under saddle.
